Education
I support our teachers. Teachers are the closest to students and what they do each day makes an incredible difference. We need to give them the tools they need to effectively teach their students. Smaller class sizes will enable teachers to put a focus on learning. Less students in a classroom gives teachers more time for teaching and the students more focus.
I’ve dedicated my life to helping children reach their full potential, and it breaks my heart to see too many schools continue to fail our kids. All children are smart and capable; yet, we must set high expectations for academics and behavior, so our students reach them. We need to challenge students each day and help them learn the skills they need to become successful and happy adults.
Our education system must put the education of kids first. All students must have an opportunity to go to a good school.

Health Care
We know that rapid testing for the COVID-19 virus can help stop the spread of this deadly disease. Carrie supports more funding for rapid testing.
Healthcare heroes risk their own lives to save those suffering from COVID-19. Carrie supports more funding for PPE for hospital workers. She’s been chipping in and volunteering the last few months to help make PPE.
Prescription drug costs have been a huge issue in recent years. The battle in DC will go on and on, but we can make progress here at home. Carrie supports real price transparency and plain language lists that include costs and options to give us a clear presentation of the care available to us.

Taxes & Spending
Our economy and business community are under attack! In the last 4 years, there were more than 150 anti-business bills proposed by state legislators. Our local sales tax was recently increased and there are rumors of a property tax increase.
Thousands of small businesses were looking forward to a reduction on their payroll taxes, but that was stripped away. An illegal tax increase passed last session and that says it all about overreach and lack of integrity of our supposed leaders.
It’s time we get back to fiscal accountability and oversight of our tax dollars. Instead of looking to tax our purchases and property, we should look to cut wasteful spending and trim bloated budgets. Millions of dollars are spent on pet projects at the expense of our health care and our schools.

Ethics
We expect to hear about politicians going to prisons in Chicago, but it’s shocking to hear about it in Nevada. There were three prominent elected officials who resigned last year because of inappropriate behavior, and one of them is currently serving time in prison.
We need to strengthen campaign finance laws. We need to tighten our rules of disclosure to expose all conflicts of interest. We need to protect victims of abuse to end workplace abuse and discrimination.

Veterans
I have two sons currently serving in the military. We need to prioritize our military members and their families. Ensuring their benefits should be job number one, whether it’s expanding access to childcare or working with small businesses to hire more veterans. We can do more to take care of those who have sacrificed for our country.

Public Safety
I believe in law and order. My husband is a police officer, and I see the sacrifice he makes to keep our community safe. We need to ensure our first responders have the tools needed to protect us and do their job safely.
I support criminal reform programs; especially, programs like Hope for Prisoners that help those who have paid their debt to society to get jobs and become positive, productive members of our community.
