Nevada is in desperate need of greater access to quality healthcare. Patients are suffering from long wait times both at the doctor’s office and to get an appointment. In addiction treatment, for example, Nevada is one of the worst in the nation; 3.4% of our population has needed, but not received treatment for illicit drug use disorders.

We cannot continue down this path. In the legislature, I introduced legislation to increase the number of psychological healthcare providers and sponsored legislation to expand the number of students in nursing programs at our universities.

Expanding Nevada’s healthcare pipeline so that more providers of healthcare can practice in our state and serve our citizens is one of my top priorities.
